Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Some love stories start fast, with fireworks and sparks. Ours? It started quietly, patiently, like a soft melody that grew into a beautiful symphony.

We met when Sophia was just 14 and Tim had just turned 16. Still teenagers, we were navigating high school, passions, dreams—and somewhere in the middle of it all, we found each other. We went on a couple of early dates, shy smiles and sweet conversations, but it wasn’t a whirlwind. It was slow, steady, and genuine—like the best kinds of beginnings often are.

One of those early moments we both remember was when Tim asked Sophia to his junior prom. But fate had other plans. Sophia had a dance competition that same night, and she had to say no. It was a missed moment—but not the end of our story.

Time passed, as it does. We both grew, learned, changed. Then, in the spring of Tim’s senior year, he reached out to Sophia one more time. This time, everything felt different. From that moment on, we never stopped talking. There was an ease in our conversations, a comfort in our connection, and something unspoken that felt a lot like forever.

Over the next few months, we started seeing each other again. We went on more dates, spent more time together, and let things unfold naturally. Tim asked Sophia to his senior prom—not as boyfriend and girlfriend, but as close friends. Still, beneath the surface, we both felt it: something had changed. Something real was beginning to bloom.

Just five days after prom, we went for a walk together through the woods—a peaceful, quiet place that felt like our own little world. It was there that Tim turned to Sophia and asked her to be his girlfriend. She said yes, and just like that, our journey as a couple officially began.

That first summer together was full of magic—warm nights, long talks, shared dreams. But as summer ended, we faced our first big challenge: Tim was headed off to college at Ball State University, and Sophia was starting her senior year of high school back at home. The road ahead was uncertain. Long distance is never easy—but we knew our love was worth it. And we were right.

For five years, we made it work. We drove back and forth between Pittsburgh and Muncie, spent our summers at the lake, and lived on thousands of FaceTime calls and text messages. We grew not just in love, but as individuals—cheering each other on through the highs and holding each other through the lows.

Through it all, our bond never wavered.

Eventually, we both reached one of the proudest moments of our lives: college graduation. Sophia earned her degree in Dance and Education from Point Park University, with a minor in Business Management. Tim completed his degree in Architecture at Ball State University, with a minor in Interior Design. It was a moment filled with joy, pride, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing we’d made it—together.

After graduation, we spent the summer doing what we love most: soaking up the sunshine, making memories, and being together. And then, in the place that has always held a special piece of our hearts—Minocqua, Wisconsin—Tim got down on one knee.

The moment was everything we had dreamed of. Boats flying by on the lake, the crisp North Woods air, and just the two of us, hearts full. Tim asked, Sophia said yes, and we ended the night celebrating in true Wisconsin fashion—at a classic supper club, surrounded by love and the promise of forever.

This engagement marked the end of one chapter—the part of our story that began with a missed prom and a walk in the woods—and the beginning of a new one. Marriage, for us, isn’t just a milestone. It’s the next step in a journey that’s already been filled with patience, growth, laughter, and love.

We’re so grateful to be stepping into this next chapter with the people we love most by our side. Thank you for being part of our story—we can’t wait to celebrate with you.
